I was so pleased to be featured as ‘Blog of the Month’ in the January 2017 issue of Creativity magazine!
Creativity is a monthly magazine packed with inspiring projects that use a range of techniques from paper crafting and sewing to fabric printing. It’s perfect for creative people who are looking for a bit of encouragement to try new crafts or learn new skills!
I caught up with Creativity magazine just before Christmas and the January issue features a little Q&A where we talk photography, crafts and blog life. You can read the original article over on my ‘features’ page here! For a quick look at the Q&A keep scrolling…
Blog of the Month!
Chloe Mullaney’s self-titled blog is a beautiful and (surprisingly) calming insight into the lifestyle of a crafter. With fresh photography, pretty projects and contemporary inspiration, it’s easy to get distracted scrolling through the dreamy pages. We caught up with Chloe to chat about style, photography and patience.
Your wonderful photography is the first thing we noticed about your blog: have you always had a photographic eye?
I’ve always been interested in photography and am drawn to the atmospheric and inspiring photos you find in magazines and on Pinterest I find that the ideas for my set-ups come quite easily but it’s taken a lot of practice!
How would you describe your crafting style?
I’m not a perfectionist by any means but I do believe that if a job’s worth doing it’s worth doing well. I like to take my time to learn new techniques and get them right. Slow and steady wins the race!
Are there any types of craft that you’ve not yet tried but are keen to?
Oh so many! To list a few: block printing, lino cutting, screen printing, tie dying. I also have a real yearning to try pottery!
What can we expect from you in the near future?
More DIY tutorials – particularly lifestyle and home decor projects! I think it’s really empowering to be able to create something like a cushion cover yourself.
