I’m so happy to introduce our darling girl Emily Iris Mullaney who came into the world at 7.47pm on Wednesday 11th January at exactly 41 weeks!
That last week of pregnancy was tough, with plenty of sleepless nights due to cramps and kicks (and a wakeful toddler who seemed to sense the change afoot!) but the birth itself was quick and calm. It was such a positive experience in fact that it left me on a massive high for days afterwards! Emily has just slotted right into the family – it’s as though we were waiting for her and now that she’s here life can really begin. It’s funny because I remember feeling exactly the same way with Orla – one of natures clever tricks perhaps! Second time around I feel like I’m taking things in my stride a little more. Nothing can prepare you for the earth shattering lifestyle switch-up of having your first baby but this time it’s all cool. It’s funny because now that Orla is such a person, I look back at her baby photos and I can see the Orla I know staring back at me but at the time I had no idea what was coming. Emily has her own vibe and I can’t wait to get to know this perfect little person.
I’m looking forward to getting back to my sewing table in a few weeks time but right now I’m busy savouring every sweet cuddle with my girl who is growing far too quickly already.
