Here’s a tiny glimpse at Augustus Pugin’s family home ‘The Grange’ in Ramsgate…

Pugin had the house built in the Victorian Gothic revival style in 1850 and The Landmark Trust (who now own the house) have lovingly restored it to the way it would have looked in Pugin’s time, even going so far as to re-create his wallpaper designs. The house is so full of colour and pattern – it was a feast for the eyes and so inspiring! The best part is that it sleeps 8 (or 9 if you have the heart to put someone in the tower room) and you can rent it from The Landmark Trust at a very reasonable price. Ramsgate is a cute seaside town that’s well worth a weekend trip – I heartily reccomend!
