Here’s a tiny glimpse at Augustus Pugin’s family home ‘The Grange’ in Ramsgate…

Pugin had the house built in the Victorian Gothic revival style in 1850 and The Landmark Trust¬†(who now own the house) have lovingly restored it to the way it would have looked in Pugin’s time, even going so far as to re-create his wallpaper designs. The house is so full of colour and pattern – it was a feast for the eyes and so inspiring! The best part is that it sleeps 8 (or 9 if you have the heart to put someone in the tower room) and you can rent it from The Landmark Trust at a very reasonable price. Ramsgate is a cute seaside town that’s well worth a weekend trip – I heartily reccomend!
