From left to right: Stunning embroidery from Valentino, Midnight Garden print wallpaper by House of Hackney photograph by Justina Blakeney, dried rose petals, gents tie featured on Green Wedding Shoes, Hungarian folk artist, Peoneden wallpaper in Midnight by House of Hackney.

I can’t get enough of these moody, wintery florals at the moment – overblown, English garden flowers against dark backgrounds and folky embroidery especially. I love Justina Blakeney’s photograph above – the withered flowers look so delicate, it’s a totally different message to a bunch of fresh spring blooms isn’t it? Faded grander, or something like that. I’m keeping my eye out for the perfect printed fabric to make 70’s style long sleeved dresses – I’ll share my findings and some pattern ideas soon!
